Description

Medicine Hat College invites applications for six casual Food Service Workers with various hours to work in Crave Pub.

 

Responsibilities

Working in Crave, the Food Service Worker is a strong team player who provides exceptional customer service and excellent interpersonal communication. This position is responsible for presenting menus, taking orders accurately, serving food and beverages, including liquor, verifying age and identification of customers, cashier duties, clearing and cleaning tables, dishwashing, and ensuring that all retail supplies and condiments are filled and stocked.  The Food Service Worker will complete all closing tasks and work with guidance from the Manager.

 

Qualifications

  • High School diploma and directly related experience in a fast-paced food services environment.
  • Must be of legal age (18) to serve alcohol based on Alberta requirements.

 

Certifications required prior to start of employment:

  • Food Service Worker certificate and/or Alberta Health Services accredited certificate in Food Safety and Sanitation

  • ProServe certificate

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with computer point-of-sale systems is an asset
  • Math skills and ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

 

Employment Details

Term of Appointment:  August, 2019 to April 10, 2020  

Pay Rate:                     $15.12 per hour (Start Rate); $16.54 per hour (Job Rate)
