Amber Kilback

Amber Kilback started dancing at the age of 6 and has extensive training in ballet and modern dance with highly regarded teachers, as well as choreographers. After graduating from the The School of Toronto Dance Theatre’s professional modern dance training program in 2005, she had the opportunity to dance with a West African Dance Company in Toronto and a World Dance Company in Edmonton. The rich array of dance forms Amber has experienced influences and informs her movement style.

Amber went on to complete a 200hr yoga teacher training, studies in Authentic Movement & Somatic Therapies, and fell in love with the Ecstatic Dance community in Nelson, BC. These therapeutic forms of movement have given her tools to make dance sustainable for the body and an empowering and even healing experience for the sense of self. Convinced that connection to the body’s ability to move is best cultivated by feeling good while learning to dance, it is most important to Amber that dancers develop in a supportive and compassionate environment, and be reminded of their initial love for movement.

Amber is enthusiastic to join the dance community at MHC Conservatory and to share her innate and long standing love of dance.
