Tyler Falk

Drums

Tyler began primarily as a guitar player, enrolled first in guitar lessons. However, after realizing a passion for rhythm, he quickly transitioned into drum lessons and has continued to apply himself with thorough practice routines for the past eight years.

It wasn’t long before Tyler gained the trust and respect of his drum instructor Daniel Helppi, and he was given the opportunity to contribute to the teaching of Daniel’s student base alongside previous MHC Conservatory instructor Gavin Ward. Recently, Tyler had the opportunity to tour across Canada playing shows with the band For a Life Unburdened in support of the release of their latest record, which was produced by Taylor Larson (Asking Alexandria, Periphery).

In 2015, Tyler graduated from SAIT with a certificate in digital audio, and he has developed an abundance of skill as an audio engineer and music producer. He’s applied his abilities in this area to become the go-to audio engineer at multiple music venues in Medicine Hat and has produced more than 20 local artists’ records. This production skill goes hand-in-hand with teaching, as it involves helping artists refine their ideas and perfect their performances.

Today, Tyler produces records for alternative bands, plays drums in For a Life Unburdened, and is pursuing his band Heart’s Content as a guitar player and vocalist. He is proud to become a part of the MHC Conservatory and contribute to the development of the great music community that we’ve built within Medicine Hat.
