Pathways to Ethics Review Process
Use the information below to decide whether your research proposal will need to have an Ethics Review for research involving human subjects.
If your research proposal assumes more than minimal risk to human subjects including students, you must submit your proposal for a full Ethics Review and approval must be provided in writing before commencing the research.
If your research proposal assumes minimal risk to human subjects, you are still required to report your research proposal to the Medicine Hat College Ethics Review Board (MHCERB). This is an expedited process and approval is not required before commencing your research.
If your research proposal assumes no risk to human subjects and is based on quality assurance, you are not required to submit your proposal for ethics review and may commence your research without the initial approval of Medicine Hat College Ethics Review Board (MHCERB).
