Distributed Learning (commonly referred to as distance learning) is a general term used to describe a multi-media method of instructional delivery. This provides learning opportunities beyond the time and place constraints of the traditional classroom. The student learns with the aid of an instructor who provides guidance and direction. This method provides convenience and flexibility for the student, enabling them to balance their studies with work, family, and other commitments.
Although there are deadlines to meet, learners can work on material within those deadlines at their own pace. Students work under the guidance of their instructors via Blackboard, email, telephone and various other technologies.
