New adult programming available at Conservatory
September 3, 2014
New for fall 2014! The Medicine Hat College (MHC) Conservatory of Music and Dance is expanding their fall programming to include courses for adults ages 16 and up. Music lovers will have an option to sign up for School of Rock and Latin Ensemble, taught by local musician Ryan Massini.
“Ryan has been touring all summer with his band Mahoney to help promote his new album but is eager to teach this fall. He is well known in the community and we are excited to have him as part of the team,” said Catherine Annau, manager of visual and performing arts.
Annau also mentioned that starting September 07, 2014, Massani will be hosting a free drumming circle for all ages, every Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at the college. The sessions will last for six weeks and will take place outdoors – weather permitting.
Also launching in the fall is Adult Ballet (no previous experience required), Adult Stretch and Strength, which is taught by Amelia Low, as well as Adult Hip Hop, led by Colleen Sherring.
“Amelia will be getting back from a summer studying in New York City and this will be Colleen’s first year teaching at the Conservatory,” said Annau. “It will be exciting to see the knowledge she is bringing and sharing with the students.”
Registration for the adult sessions will be held September 2 – 6, 2014. To view the dance fees and schedule click here.
