MHC hires new vice president of administration and finance
August 25, 2014
Following a comprehensive search, Medicine Hat College (MHC) has selected Wayne Resch for the newly created position of vice president of administration and finance. Resch formerly served as the chief financial officer with the college.
When asked about his reaction to his new position, Resch explained that he is excited to have an opportunity to expand beyond his current role, and actively participate in the shared leadership of MHC.
“The future of post-secondary education is changing and through shared leadership I want to ensure MHC is prepared to grow,” explains Resch. “I am excited for this opportunity and committed to ensuring the college continues to do what is best for our students and community.”
Resch has been with the college since 2003, and has held various roles including manager of financial services, director and chief financial officer. Prior to working with the college he owned and operated a small business in Saskatchewan that focused on accounting and income tax services.
Resch, an alumni of the business administration program at MHC, has a Bachelor of Management through Athabasca University and has his Certified Management Accountant Designation.
Dr. Denise Henning, president at MHC explains that this is one of many changes that will be occurring at the college as it moves towards “future-proofing” itself.
“We are currently in the process of creating a new strategic plan to define what the college looks like in the future,” said Dr. Henning. “We are excited to have Wayne with us as we define MHC at its best.”
