October 12, 2016
Medicine Hat College (MHC) is inviting the community to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Brooks Campus on October 20, 2016 at 7 p.m. Attendees will hear speeches from staff and alumni, and see the contents of a 25 year-old time capsule which was buried when the building was constructed.
Cindy Slenders, director of the Brooks Campus and regional stewardship explains that she is excited to be able to celebrate the achievements that the institution has had, while thanking the community for its support.
“Twenty-five years is a milestone for any business. For us this is a celebration of vision, forward thinking and tenacity. The college has had a significant impact on the lives of many individuals and has continued to contribute to the economic landscape of Brooks and area,&; says Slenders. “We are proud of where we’ve come and also excited for the future.”
Slenders mentions that the college is looking forward to sharing stories from individuals who have been directly impacted by the institution.
“Having a post-secondary institution in Brooks has provided an opportunity for individuals to continue their education and training locally,” says Slenders. “We serve a diverse population and are proud of that. From mature learners pursuing a new career to high school students getting hands-on experience in a variety of trades, we’ve be fortunate to be part of many people’s journeys. We look forward to sharing and celebrating some of those successes.”
This event is free and open to all members of the community. Appetizers and a cash bar will be available and networking will follow the formal program.
