Summer School in the Czech Republic

The Governments of Alberta and the Czech Republic are pleased to announce a new initiative to foster greater academic, research and cultural collaboration between Alberta and the Czech Republic. 

In 2015, the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport is offering full scholarships to two Alberta post-secondary students to attend Summer Schools of Slavonic Studies in the Czech Republic.

During the summer, universities in the Czech Republic host Summer Schools of Slavonic (Czech) Studies to provide opportunities for international students from partner countries to study Czech language, literature, culture and history as well as visit landmarks and attend cultural events.

One scholarship is available for each of the following programs:

Summer School of Slavonic (Czech) Studies organized by Masaryk University in Brno, CZo
  • From July 18 to August 15, 2015
Summer School of Slavonic (Czech) Studies organized by Charles University in Prague, CZo
  • From July 24 to August 21, 2015

Submit complete applications to international.ed@gov.ab.ca by February 24, 2015. 

Applications must include:

  • Application form(s) - Brno / Prague
  • Letter of Intent
  • Post-secondary transcript(s)

Recipients will be selected based on academic merit and relevance of previous study.  Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents and be residents of Alberta.
