BIOL 331 - Introduction to Cellular and Molecular Biology
Introduction to Cellular and Molecular Biology
The course addresses the principles of cellular structure and function through various topics: membrane structure and transport; intracellular compartments and communication; cytoskeleton; interaction of cells with their neighbours and their environment; pattern formation during embryogenesis; the regulation and dysregulation of cell proliferation; and stem cells and tissue renewal. The tutorial will introduce students to modern microscopic techniques such as confocal and electron microscopy.
