The course addresses the principles of cellular structure andfunction through various topics including membrane structure and transport, intracellular compartments, the cytoskeleton, cell communication, pattern formation during embryogenesis, the regulation and dysregulation of cell proliferation, stem cells, and tissue renewal. The tutorial will introduce students to modern microscopy techniques including confocal fluorescence and electron microscopy, as well as the process of creating an academic poster.
