Re-conceptualizing mental health and addictions across thelifespan to prevent illness, and strengthen lifelong health and wellbeing. Critical analysis focuses on the ecological, socio-cultural, political, and complex health and illness situations with a view to furthering social justice. Core concepts include risk and resilience, brain plasticity, intergenerational transmission, cumulative burden, mental illness and addictions. Comprehensive assessment,intervention and prevention are highlighted with a view toleadership in practice. Third and Fourth Years of the Nursing program are University of Calgary courses.
