Meet the BFFL Staff
A MHC alumni of Kinesiology UT, Tara has worked with the Be Fit for Life Centre since 2014. Tara is responsible for occupational fitness testing and is the director of the Rattler Run.
Tara completed her Master of Arts degree in Adapted Physical Activity from the University of Alberta. She also is trained as an AFLCA leader in Older Adult Fitness. Tara has worked and volunteered extensively in the world of adapted physical activity focusing in on the sports of sledge hockey, boccia, adapted cycling, wheelchair curling and adapted fitness. Her most notable roles include Head Coach of the Canadian National Women’s Sledge Hockey Team and Program Coordinator of Medicine Hat Adaptive Sport and Recreation.
Her true passion is to help to provide choice for individuals of all ability levels to be active in their own way. When not working, Tara can be found coaching hockey/sledge hockey or hanging out with her nephews. She also enjoys going on walks with her fiancé, Derek, and their dog, Ted.
