Tara Chisholm, MA
Physical Literacy Consultant
A MHC alumni of Kinesiology UT, Tara has worked with the Be Fit for Life Centre since 2014. Tara is responsible for leading physical literacy based projects within our local school districts.
Tara completed her Master of Arts degree in Adapted Physical Activity from the University of Alberta. She also is trained as an AFLCA leader in Older Adult Fitness. Tara has worked and volunteered extensively in the world of adaptive physical activity focusing in on the sports of sledge hockey, boccia, adaptive cycling, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair curling and adaptive fitness. Her most notable roles include Head Coach of the Canadian National Women’s Para Hockey Team and Provincial Program Director for the Paralympic Sports Association.
Her true passion is to help to provide choice for individuals of all ability levels to be active in their own way. When not working, Tara can be found coaching hockey/sledge hockey or hanging out with her nieces and nephews. She also enjoys going on walks with her fiancé, Derek, and their dog, Doug.
