2017 Rattler Run is April 29

Lace up! It’s Rattler Run time! Saturday, April 29 is the annual Rattler Run at Medicine Hat College. We have changed up some of the race routes and hope to get everybody out (e.g., young, young at heart, new racers, experienced racers, wheelchair users, the list goes on!) We encourage you to bring your friends and family along and register by checking out the general information section below! Race Information

  • Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Medicine Hat College
  • Prizes for top finishers!
    • Prizes will be given to the overall 1st place male and female winners of the 3k, 5k and 10k races (NOT for each age category)
    • 3k, 5k, 10k medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age category
  • Medal ceremony for 3km at 11:45 a.m.
  • Medal ceremony for 5km at 12 p.m.
  • Medal ceremony for 10km at 12:30 p.m.
  • Snacks and refreshments provided for all racers following in MHC main lobby with award presentations being held in the gymnasium.

Entry Information

    • Rattler Run 2017 Registration will open up on Tuesday, Feb 14.
    • Earlybird entry fees before or on April 7, 2017
      • Individual = $25/person
      • Group = $20/person
    • Entry fees AFTER April 7, 2017
      • Individual = $35/person
      • Group = $30/person
    • Please note that all online registrations will have an additional processing fee for each participant registered ( 6.5% of total + $1.25 per participant)
    • Add an additional $15 on to entry fee for Rattler Run 2017 t-shirt! Shirt orders are due on April 7, 2017.
      • No refunds of entry fees UNLESS you can find someone to transfer your entry to. This process is done on our online registration site. For more info, contact
    • Distance changes (e.g., Transfer your registration from 10k to 5k) can be done online PRIOR to race day for a small online processing fee.

    Course Start & Maps

    • Staggered Start
      • 10k run start – 11 a.m.
      • 5k run/walk start – 11:05 a.m.
      • 3k run/walk start – 11:10 a.m.

    Package Pickup

    • Participants can pick up their race packages in the Medicine Hat College main lobby
      • Friday, April 28 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
      • Saturday, April 29 starting at 9 a.m.
      • Someone else can pick up your package for you.

    Race Rules

    • Each competitor must follow mapped course as directed.
    • All participants must follow the directions of race officials, marshals, volunteers, security and follow the course as marked. You must make way immediately for all emergency vehicles, including police, fire brigade and ambulance.
    • Each participant must wear the timing chip provided to them in their race package (do not swap with anyone else). The chip must be worn as described on the instruction sheet that comes with them at time of race package pickup.
    • Participants must also remove all other timing chips from previous events.
    • Race routes may change at any point leading up to the event for reasons which may include but are not exclusive to: safety, weather, road or pathway disruptions.
    • The organizers reserve the right to alter without notice any of the Race Rules which govern the event.
    • No dogs permitted to accompany runners (unless it is a service dog).

    Group Registration

    Group registration is available for individuals who register in a group of four or more people. It is available both before and after the early bird deadline of April 7. When you register as a group, every racer in that group gets $5 off their race entry registration.
