Medicine Hat College’s School of Business and Continuing Studies invites applications for a part-time, contract instructor for the 2024-25 instructional year. This short certificate program provides theory and practice to help individuals seeking an entry-level administrative position in the bookkeeping field. The program is delivered 2 evenings per week for 15 weeks, on campus. Applicants to instruct a Computerized Bookkeeping Certificate program should ideally possess a blend of technical expertise, teaching skills, and industry experience.
A little about the role:
The primary workload will include instruction of the coursework in the Computerized Bookkeeping Certificate program. Courses include Introduction to Bookkeeping, Sage 50 and QuickBooks Online.
Details:
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) can enhance an instructor's credibility and demonstrate their expertise in the field.
- Certificate/diploma in business, management or a related field combined with professional qualifications and significant bookkeeping experience. A degree in Education is an asset.
- A deep understanding of bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks and Sage.
- A commitment to continuous learning to stay up to date with industry trends and best practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team.
- Solid comfort level using technology.
- Experience with Blackboard Learning Management System an asset.
- Teaching experience training adults or facilitating groups in a classroom is an asset.
- Excellent presentation, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- A commitment to student success.
