Medicine Hat College’s School of Business and Continuing Studies invites applications for part-time, contract instructor positions for 2024-25.
Our Digital Literacy and Employability Learning Suite is a comprehensive program designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to thrive in today's digital-centric world and succeed in the modern job market. The employability skill development portion focuses on enhancing employability in modern work environments; this covers topics such as understanding modern work cultures, fostering collaboration in cross-functional teams to bridge organizational silos, honing critical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities, embracing and adapting to change, cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset within the workplace (including intrapreneurship), navigating cross-cultural and multi-generational team dynamics, leveraging remote collaboration tools effectively, and utilizing AI (Artificial Intelligence) in job search processes. This position offers the opportunity to lead classes at both our MH and Brooks locations, or alternatively, to focus on instructing at one location exclusively, based on the candidate's preference and availability.
A little about the role:
The primary workload will include delivery of courses in the Digital Literacy and Employability Learning Suite. This position requires passion and commitment to learners, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a team, comfortable using technology and teaching online.
Details:
- A degree in fields such as education, psychology, business administration, human resources, or a related field.
- Relevant work experience in areas such as career counseling, human resources, talent development, workforce training, or organizational development.
- A commitment to staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving job market demands is crucial for ensuring the relevance and currency of the employability skills being taught.
- Teaching experience training adults in a classroom or online setting.
- Effective communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- A commitment to student success.
