New dean brings depth of expertise to School of Business & Continuing Studies
Dr. Morgan Blair, an accomplished college leader, is ready to embrace opportunities and tackle challenges as the new dean of Medicine Hat College’s School of Business and Continuing Studies.Blair, a 14-year college veteran, has served as interim dean to the school since February this year.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Morgan as part of the senior academic leadership team for several months and I’m excited to welcome her to this role. I am especially pleased to note that our efforts to fill this vital leadership role, which included working with a search firm, led back to campus and our own talent pool,” says Dr. Nancy Brown, vice-president academic and provost.
“Her professional capacity, coupled with institutional knowledge, will provide significant support to the School of Business & Continuing Studies and we look forward to the leadership she will continue to bring in this permanent role.“
Deeply versed in all things Medicine Hat College, Blair has extensive experience in strategic planning and research, human resources, data, budgeting and more.
“I enjoy working in complex, challenging environments and have found my time as interim dean very rewarding. I am drawn to the opportunities this role presents and believe I can have a positive impact on our students, the school, our institution, and ultimately the region,” she says.

Blair’s career at MHC began as the manager of institutional research in 2010, a position that expanded and evolved into the director of strategic research and analysis. In 2020, her impact broadened as the executive director of talent, culture, and strategy. Her education includes a doctorate in higher education leadership, master’s degree in community health sciences, and bachelor’s degree in psychology with honours.
She will move into the permanent dean role immediately.
