Erin has a distinctive approach to teaching where she sees the teacher-learner relationship as a collaborative partnership. She holds the belief that every learner has a distinct path to learning, which cannot be accommodated within a "one size fits all" model. While Erin assumes the role of subject matter expert as the teacher, she also relies on her learners to put in the effort required to meet their individual learning needs, while trusting her to guide them through the education journey.
Erin employs a variety of teaching methods to captivate learners and maintain their interest, including group discussions, participatory learning, and case studies. She also values feedback from students to assess the effectiveness of her approaches and uses reflective assignments to encourage students to contemplate the topic and their own learning. Her overarching objective is not only to teach students how to apply knowledge and utilize safety principles in their practice, but also to inspire them to question the status quo and become self-directed learners.
