Hospital Unit Clerk Certificate

This program prepares graduates to work in the fast-paced field of health professionals and perform administrative duties in hospitals, long-term care facilities and other health related institutional settings.  

Unit Clerks play a critical role in coordinating activities and information to ensure the efficient satisfaction of medical staff, patients, and families. Our program prepares you for this position with classroom instruction as well as a preceptored work experience.

Medical Terminology is the prerequisite for the Hospital Unit Clerk program. In order to successfully complete the course, students must earn a ‘B’ or higher.

The Role of the Unit Clerk  $995 + GST  
Hospital Unit Clerk Practicum  $175 + GST

A Clear Criminal Record Check and up-to-date immunization records must be provided to the college prior to the practicum.

Practicums will be scheduled in May -June, in collaboration with AHS.

Practicums will be completed during hours that unit clerks work, which include days, weekends, evenings and nights. Day shifts start at 7:00 am.

In order to earn a Hospital Unit Clerk Certificate of Proficiency, students must complete required courses with a minimum mark ‘B’ in all required courses.
