Bruce Poon Tip, Founder of Gap Adventures, will be the guest of honour at a special speaking engagement at Medicine Hat College on December 3, 2010, in support of the institution’s Ecotourism and Outdoor Leadership program. The event is open to students, faculty, and all community members.  All proceeds from ticket sales will support the Student Research Scholarship.  

Bruce is an award-winning trailblazer in sustainable tourism and a celebrated business leader.  Powered by a strong entrepreneurial spirit, he built his company from a one-person operation in 1990, to a leading global adventure travel company that currently employs 800 people.  Moreover, Bruce is passionate about changing people’s live through travel.  He will share stories and insight from his road to success, while engaging guests in an interactive forum.  

“Travel is a privilege that has the power to impact and change lives,” says Bruce.  “I’m honoured to have the opportunity to contribute to a discussion that will hopefully inspire people to join the sustainability movement and give back.”  

Bruce has been the keynote presenter and has spoken at engagements around the world, including:

•  UN launch of The Year of Eco Tourism in New York
• UN World Tourism Organization Seminar on Ethics in Tourism

Tickets for the event are $10 ($5 for students) and can be purchased at the Students’ Association Office at Medicine Hat College, and at Community Futures Entre-Corp Business Development / Tourism Futures at 556 4th Street SE, Medicine Hat.
