Dinner connects students to business
Business person of the year to be honoured
March 31, 2011
Medicine Hat College Division of Business students will have an opportunity to mix and mingle with local business leaders next week. The 7th Annual “Connecting Students to Business Dinner” takes place Thursday, March 31, at the Medicine Hat Lodge. The Division of Business and its students organize this event, enabling students to learn first-hand how to succeed in business.
The “Connecting Students to Business Dinner” will once again honour a local business person by naming him the Business Person of the Year. To be nominated for this award, the business person must be a role model for students with a reputation for solid business practices. He must also demonstrate leadership in business, give back to the community, and conduct business in the Medicine Hat region.
Medicine Hat College is pleased to name Mr. Clayton Sissons, president of IXL Ltd., as this year’s Business Person of the Year.
“This dinner represents what the college is all about – making connections to help students succeed,” said Jacquelyn Penner, dean of business at Medicine Hat College. “We are looking forward to honouring Clayton; he exemplifies the very qualities that our students aspire to and he has many experiences and insights that he can offer future business leaders.”
