Engineering, computer aided drafting and design technology students are preparing to compete in this year’s Popsicle Stick Bridge Contest for an opportunity to win the Best Design Build Consultant 2013 award.
Each team of up to four members can use only up to 110 craft sticks and white glue to build a bridge that can withstand the highest test load. Points are awarded for design and artistic appearance, highest load/weight ratio and accuracy of predicted failure load.
Local members of Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), The Associations of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET) and industry members will also be on hand to meet and greet with the students. This is a RSVP event, the deadline to register is Nov. 4, 2013. Those interested in attending can contact Clay Bos at 403 529-3941 or email@example.com.
