MHC’s camp coordinators are back and ready to help your kids soar into summer

June 16, 2015

Logan Bodnaruk and Savannah Symmonds have returned and are ready to spend the summer having fun and experiencing new camps with your kids at Medicine Hat College (MHC).

“We are excited to be back at MHC and look forward to promoting all of our summer camps to the community. For us, working at the college is a great opportunity and very rewarding experience, especially since we both love working with kids,” says Bodnaruk, summer science camp coordinator.

This year the college is offering over 180 sessions for kids and teens to choose from, including the new Black Rocket camps which offer participants an opportunity to make their own video game, create an app, or design Minecraft characters through 3-D modelling software.

Also new are camps like Despicable Me and Frozen: Olaf’s Adventure as well as Fear Factor, Chopped! Kids in the Kitchen and Myth Busters which are based off of popular films and television shows.

Symmonds, summer camp coordinator explains that the camp themes vary and that there are a lot of options for kids to get outside, meet new friends, challenge themselves and be active.

“We have a large variety of camps that engage kids in outdoor activities – we explore Kin Coulee, the College pond and all around MHC. Whether it’s learning how to be a princess in Princess in Training or delving into the secrets of space with Astro Adventures, they are all a great way to encourage participation, fun, and the development of fundamental movement and social skills.” says Symmonds.

Registration will remain open throughout the summer. To register for the camps visit www.mhc.ab.ca/continuing-studies, phone 403.529.3844 or come by in person to MHC’s registration desk. Parents are encouraged to register their kids early as camps fill up quickly.
