Enactus MHC invites the community to attend their annual Inspire Lectures

November 25, 2015

On November 30, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Eresman Theatre, Medicine Hat College’s (MHC) Enactus chapter is inviting the community to attend their Inspire Lectures. This annual event invites regional entrepreneurs to share their stories and engage in a panel discussion as well as question and answer period.

This year’s entrepreneurs include: J.R. and Dawson Wikkerink, founding partners of Screamin Brothers; Brandie Peters, owner of Blogging Hatter; Chris Deering, owner of Deerview Meats; and Jori Kirk, creator of Cypress Hills Eco-Adventures Ltd.

“We wanted to bring in local entrepreneurs, with a variety of backgrounds and business models, that would inspire the community as well as showcase entrepreneurship as a viable career opportunity,” says Colton Eremenko, member of Enactus MHC.

According to Eremenko not only does the background and experiences of the entrepreneurs vary, but also their ages - which range from teen to adulthood.

“The founders of Screamin Brothers are local high school students who created a business around dairy-free frozen treats. They went on to the Dragons’ Den and received an offer,” says Eremenko. “But what’s also cool is that they are local and passionate about social responsibility. They are ordinary people who are doing extraordinary things and are willing to share their inspiring ideas.”

The Enactus members always look forward to this event and feel that it highlights the fact that anyone can change the world. The Inspire Lectures provide valuable perspective and motivation that help people take good ideas to a higher level.
