October 14, 2015
Medicine Hat College (MHC) is inviting the community to campus on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to come cheer on the Rattlers as they take on Briercrest at the volleyball home opener. In celebration of their 50th anniversary the college is completing 50 Acts of College throughout the region, as one of their acts admission to the games will be free.
Attendees are encouraged to wear black and gold, or their Rattlers gear, to the home opener and bring a non-perishable food item for the Student Associations’ Food Bank. Anyone who donates, will also be entered to win a 50th anniversary door prize which will be handed out at both the men’s and women’s games.
“It’s the college’s 50th anniversary, so what better way to celebrate than by packing the gym with high-energy fans and cheering our teams on to a win,” says Patrick Sharp, athletic events supervisor. “We want students, staff, alumni and everyone from the community to come out and experience Rattler Nation first hand.”
Sharp anticipates that the game will not disappoint.
“The Rattlers plan to show up and compete on the volleyball court,” says Sharp. “The teams have been practicing hard and are eager to prove themselves in the home opener. Volleyball demands commitment and passion, and we know our players have it.”
