Rattlers name Humphrey men’s basketball coach

July 18, 2016

The Medicine Hat College (MHC) Rattlers are pleased to announce that Richard Humphrey has been appointed the new head coach of the men’s basketball team effective July 15, 2016.

Humphrey has served as an assistant coach with the team since 2012 and more recently as the interim head coach. He will be taking over for Craig Price, who was in the role for the past four seasons.

“Rattlers Athletics is very excited to have Rich join our coaching staff as head coach of the men’s basketball program. Rich is an outstanding basketball coach with a strong belief in developing the whole of the student-athlete, both on the court and off the court, and we couldn’t be more pleased with his acceptance of this new challenge,” says Terry Ballard, manager of sport and wellness.

Humphrey is a proud Rattler alum who, as team captain, helped lead the team to back to back ACAC bronze medals before moving on to finish his playing days with the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns while pursuing his education in Kinesiology. After his time at the University of Lethbridge, Coach Humphrey returned to Medicine Hat where he resides with his wife and young daughter.
