Interim dean leadership announced at MHC
August 7, 2020
Medicine Hat College (MHC) is pleased to announce that two of its academic schools will be under new leadership later this month.
Effective Aug. 24, 2020, Clayton Bos and Rick Robinson – two long time faculty members – will bring their experience and knowledge to the positions of interim dean and provide support and stability through the 2020-2021 academic year.
Bos, currently chair of the science department, will assume the interim dean position for the recently established School of Arts, Science and Education.
Robinson, the coordinator of the business program, will serve as interim dean for the new School of Business and Continuing Studies.
“Having the option to move two strong faculty members into these leadership positions is a significant advantage, particularly as we shift into a new operating environment this fall in response to the current covid situation,” says Dr. Vicky Roy, vice-president academic and provost at MHC.
“We appreciate Clayton and Rick for their willingness to step up and support MHC through this transition period and look forward to the ideas and perspective they will bring to their respective roles as interim dean.”
The formal organizational change from academic divisions to schools will occur at the end of August. In addition to the School of Arts, Science and Education and School of Business and Continuing Studies, MHC will also introduce a School of Trades and Technologies and School of Health and Community Services.
