41st annual Rattler Run aims to highlight the benefits of being active
February 27, 2020
Registration is now open for the 41st annual Medicine Hat College (MHC) Ratter Run happening Saturday, Apr. 25, 2020.
Using the hashtag #irun4me, this year’s race aims to promote the benefits that individuals of any age or ability can receive from being active.
“Being active isn’t just a passing trend or fad – it’s a scientifically proven method to strengthen our body, mind and social connections. Research states that 75% of Canadian adults 18 to 64 years old and 68% of adults 65 years and older report strong intentions to be active in the next 6 months,” explains Tara Chisholm, race director and wellness programmer at MHC.
“The #irun4me campaign aims to inspire people to take that intention and turn it into action,” adds Chisholm. “As a long standing community tradition, we look forward to providing a fun and motivating opportunity for individuals to improve and celebrate their physical wellbeing year after year.”
The event is suited to participants of all activity levels, with the option to sign up for the 3, 5 or 10 kilometre route.
Participants can save $10 on their entry fees by registering before the early bird deadline of Apr. 3, 2020.
