Sam Heap hired as Rattlers soccer/futsal head coach

The Medicine Hat College (MHC) Rattlers, in partnership with the Medicine Hat Soccer Association (MHSA) and Vancouver Whitecaps FC, are pleased to announce that Sam Heap has been hired as the coach of the Rattlers soccer and futsal program. Heap will also be the MHSA Technical Director.
Terry Ballard, manager of Athletics and Recreation at MHC adds “Medicine Hat College Rattlers Athletics is very happy to continue our partnership with the Medicine Hat Soccer Association, by working with them in providing a high level coaching staff for our Rattlers men’s and women’s soccer and futsal programs. In addition, we are excited to welcome the expertise coming from the Vancouver Whitecaps association.”
Heap, who will be working with Rattlers Associate Coach Damir Omerovic, previously coached with the Vancouver Whitecaps for seven years with roles in Cranbrook, BC and Lethbridge, Alberta. He also spent time in his native England working with Blackburn Rovers Football Club as their Regional Talent Manager before rejoining the Whitecaps to take on this exciting opportunity in Medicine Hat.
Heap has his CSA A License and FA Level 2 certification and is now looking forward to implementing a long-term success plan for the area.
Heap begins his role in early August.
