Fall 2020 Update

Course Delivery Summary:

  • Year 1: Blended

Most of the courses in the program are well suited to online learning and we will work together that way this fall. Any labs that must be completed on campus will be described in further detail with your instructor. This means should there be a need for face-to-face instruction, you must be prepared to visit the campus in Medicine Hat.

About the Program

Students in the Aviation Management Certificate program will take courses that will help them be successful in the aviation industry, including communication in the workplace, management, and geography. In addition, students who choose to complete Super T’s Integrated Flight Training program* will establish a thorough understanding of the aviation industry in Canada and around the world, as well as aviation safety, regulations and procedures.  

*Please be aware that flight training costs through Super T Aviation are not included in the costs of MHC’s Aviation Management Certificate. Students should contact Super T Aviation for additional information on costs and structure of the flight training offered.

High school route

High school diploma with

  • ELA 30-1 or ELA 30-2
  • Math 30-1 or Math 30-2
  • Science 30 or Physics 20

Mature Route

  • ELA 30-1 or ELA 30-2
  • Math 30-1 or Math 30-2
  • Science 30 or Physics 20

Graduation Requirements

To successfully complete this program students must:

  • Attain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Achieve no grade lower than C-

Career opportunities in the aviation industry are vast and growing in demand. A graduate of MHC's Avaition Management Certificate who also completes flight training through Super T Aviation can expect to find employment as a flight instructor, Medevac pilot, charter pilot, or commuter pilot for smaller airlines. After gaining industry experience and fulfilling required flight time, graduates will be able to apply to work as a pilot for the major airlines. This program would also be an asset for obtaining employment with Nav Canada (the corporation that owns and operates Canada’s civil air navigation service).
