Developing a strong understanding of culture, society, and the past – topics you will explore in Humanities and Social Sciences (Arts) – offers tremendous value. An education in Arts can serve as the foundation for many different areas of interest. Some professional degree programs offered at universities, such as Law, require a degree in a discipline such as Arts before admission is granted.

You can begin a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Medicine Hat College and transfer to one of our partner universities to finish your studies. We have transfer agreements in place with:

Kinesiology is the science dealing with the interrelationship of the physiological processes and anatomy of the human body with respect to movement. As a graduate with a degree in Kinesiology, you may work as a rehabilitation or physical therapist with specialized training in their branch of therapy, as a consultant designing sports equipment and researching ways to improve athletic performance, exploring health problems, or improving designs for artificial limbs for amputees. Or you may choose to earn your PhD to research and teach in the field. The general field of Physical Education and Recreation Administration may lead to several career paths such as planning, organizing and directing of sports and recreation programs, or creating and promoting independent leisure lifestyles for people who have special needs.

If you have an affinity towards science and would like to pursue a degree in one of its many areas, you can begin your university studies at Medicine Hat College.

Our program is designed to prepare you to transfer to another institution after you have completed one to two years with us. Years three and four of your Bachelor of Science may be in a range of disciplines such as chemistry, physics, cell biology, physiology or zoology. Alternatively, you may pursue a professional program such as medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry or pharmacy. The possibilities are endless when you follow your scientific inspiration.

You can begin your degree in social work at Medicine Hat College and then apply to transfer to either the University of Calgary, Faculty of Social Work; or the University of Regina, Faculty of Social Work. If you choose to transfer to the University of Calgary, you have the option of completing the Bachelor of Social Work Learning Circles program at the Medicine Hat College campus.
