Prior to becoming a facilitator over 10 years ago, my nursing practice primarily included acute medical & surgical care. Since then, my career has been focused in adult education within various healthcare related programs.
As a facilitator, it is always my desire to cultivate, motivate, and inspire each person to become the successful lifelong learner they want to be while meeting the learner where they are in the present.
My philosophy, which is ever changing through experience, knowledge, and evaluative reflection, has been grounded in my own experience as a learner over the years. The occasions I considered myself to be learning at my best were times when the learning space felt collaborative and supportive. These are two concepts I hope to bring to every learning experience I am a part of whether as the learner or the facilitator.
I have a passion for the education experience; I believe that a successful and positive learning journey begets impassioned lifelong learners. I enjoy collaborating with the students and with my colleagues to discover new and innovative ways to facilitate learning.
When not teaching, family is everything!
