Devon Dallard has a learner focused teaching philosophy and is passionate about criminal justice theory. Students will be able to participate in honest and grounded discussion in his classes, where class input is welcomed as a means to enrich learning and explore ideas on consequential topics. Furthermore, students can expect clear communication, an organized schedule, clear expectations, transparency, and timely feedback.
While Devon is interested in almost any concept related to criminal justice, he most enjoys teaching topics relevant to philosophy or ethics as they pertain to creation and enforcement of laws, as well concepts relevant to explaining criminal behaviour, offender rehabilitation and community safety.
Devon Dallard was employed as a Probation Officer for 10 years, from that experience he brings relevant real world understanding as to the intricacies of each branch of the criminal justice system, as well insights as to the challenges and opportunities directly related to our community.
What Devon enjoys most about teaching at Medicine Hat College is our commitment to serve our region. He is receptive to feedback and welcomes open dialogue with students. He considers being a mentor to be a vital role as an instructor and enjoys helping others achieve success with their education and career.
