Heather Stahl holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Alberta and began a career in science. After several years, she made a life changing decision to change careers. She returned to school and earned an accounting designation (CPA, CGA) and began an accounting career. She gained experience in many industries. In her government positions, she controlled the budget of the Medicine Hat Remand Centre. In public practice, she worked as a tax specialist doing complex tax reorganizations for companies. In industry, she was a controller for a family farming corporation. Acting on her passion for life-long learning, she earned a degree in Master of Business Administration through Australian Institute of Business. With her years of experience and education, she secured contract teaching positions online through the pandemic. In 2022, she joined the faculty at Medicine Hat College teaching financial and management accounting and finance. Heather enjoys the enthusiasm brought to the classroom by the students and strives to bring her passion for accounting to the classroom with real world examples and applications. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling with her family, painting and genealogy.
