Karol believes that every person is unique and has the potential to learn and grow, not only by the acquisition of knowledge, but through the development of life skills and character traits. As an instructor in the health care field, Karol is passionate and committed to promoting a learning environment that is safe, flexible, respectful, and that acknowledges individuals’ uniqueness and cultural background. She also strives to promote self-reflection, resilience, empathy, and critical thinking skills during every class and interaction with learners.
An important fact about Karol is that soon after moving from Mexico in 2003, she became very aware that challenges in life are only opportunities for personal and professional growth. She made the commitment to take every opportunity that comes her way to continue learning and embracing challenges with a positive mindset and a growth-oriented attitude. With this perspective, Karol looks forward to making a positive impact in her own life while inspiring others to do the same.
Karol loves teaching in the Health Care Aide Program and supporting adult learners as they strive to succeed in their academic journey.
As a life-long learner herself, Karol is currently pursuing a Master's in Educational Leadership through Yorkville University.
Away from work responsibilities, her husband and sons are central and utmost important in her life.
