- Go to the Student Dashboard.
- Use your confidential mymhc.ca email and password to login.

I took courses at MHC last year, why isn’t there a tax form for me?
- T2202 forms are issued to students who have paid $100.00 or more in eligible fees for post-secondary level courses beginning and ending in a particular year. However, not all students qualify for tax forms. For example, courses in Upgrading and ESL are not considered to be at a post-secondary level and so they are excluded.
- Students also may not combine receipts from other institutions to meet the minimum eligible fee.
Why doesn’t the PDF file containing the T2202 form open?
- Please ensure that your pop-up blocker is OFF, otherwise the form can’t open.
Why doesn’t my T2202 match the amount I paid for my program or course?
- Student tax receipts will reflect only the eligible fees, not all the fees that may have been paid. For example, the Students’ Association fee, athletic fee, and health and dental plan fee are not eligible.
- Also, tax receipts are based on course dates, not on payment date. Tax receipts issued will cover studies taken from January to December. You will receive a tax form next year if your course carries over into the following year.
I received my T2202 form but the address on it is incorrect. Do I need a new one?
- You may submit the T2202 as received even if the address is incorrect. Please choose "contact information change" while logged into dashboard. This will not update your current form but will update any further communication.
My parents need my T2202 form. Will you send it directly to them for me?
- Students must access their T2202 through their Student Dashboard. T2202’s will not be mailed.
If I am an international student, will I receive a T2202?
- Yes, you will receive a T2202. Both tuition and hours completed will appear on the tax form.
My T2202 has errors. Who should I contact for help?
- If you believe there's an error on your, email studentaccounts@mhc.ab.ca with the issue needing correction, your full name, and student ID number. We will investigate and respond as soon as possible.
If I received a student award for my studies, will this be reflected on my T2202?
- No, this will not be reflected on your T2202. The award amount will be reflected on your T4A, which will be sent to you by mail.
I am taking courses full-time, why does my T2202 state I was part-time?
- The full-time/part-time status on the T2202 is based on the hours of attendance in a month, not on your student status. Also, the start or end date of a course may affect the hours calculated for that month.
Parent question: If I paid for my son/daughter’s tuition, will I receive a T2202?
- The tax receipt will be issued in the name of the person who registered at Medicine Hat College and attended the courses. There is an authorization form on page 2 of the official T2202 form for your son/daughter to use to transfer the credits to you if they so choose.
My employer paid my tuition. Do I get a T2202 form?
- Regardless of who paid your tuition and fees to Medicine Hat College, you will receive a T2202 form which shows the courses/programs you have taken. It is the responsibility of the student to obtain a T4A from their employer and declare any third-party payments correctly.
Why is the college collecting my Social Insurance Number (SIN)?
- Effective the 2019 tax year, all post-secondary institutions are required to provide the Canada Revenue Agency with Social Insurance Numbers (SIN) on Form T2202 (Tuition and Enrolment Certificate).
How will MHC protect my SIN?
- Medicine Hat College protects all your personal information, including your SIN. Only MHC staff that require your SIN to perform their job duties will have access.
How can I apply for a SIN?
- Please see the Government of Canada's Employment and Social Development website, which provides details on eligibility and the documentation needed to apply for a SIN.
Can I access my T2202 if I have not securely submitted my SIN?
- If you do not securely submit your SIN, your T2202 form will include “000000000” in this field. Providing the correct SIN will help you claim your tuition tax credit, so it’s in your best interest to do so.
