Medicine has always been fascinating, it is always adapting and changing. It takes a lot of reading and reviewing new research to stay current. It is postulated that in 1950 it took 50 years for medical knowledge to double. Currently it is expected that the amount medical knowledge doubles in less than 3 months. So there is always lots to learn due to new information and changing best practices.
I like teaching anything that is medical related. I like pathophysiology, because everything in medicine usually begins with deviations from normal physiology, and the healthcare provider must recognize the pathological process and then develop treatment plans to hopefully provide symptom control and treatment. I try to present the material from the normal physiology to the pathology and the treatment should then be intuitive. I find doing it this way makes logical sense to new learners.
