Breanne Mellen, Mental Health Programmer
Hello! I'm Breanne, a Mental Health Programmer with MHC.My career history is a wild ride ranging from working as an occupational therapy assistant in long term care, to spending the last 10 years working in the field of mental health promotion and suicide prevention. I am passionate about mental health education, but also about connecting people with the supports they need to make it through the tough times. I am a certified ASIST trainer, a certified safeTALK trainer and a certified Mental Health First Aid facilitator, but I also hold certifications in a whole handful of other workshops related to suicide prevention and mental health awareness. If you recognize my face, I've probably taught a workshop to you at some point!
When I'm not at work, I can usually be found sitting in quiet spaces with a book in my hand or writing books of my own. I also enjoy spending time with my husband, watching horror/sci fi movies and perusing thrift stores for coffee mugs and garden gnomes (but only the really ugly ones).
