Sonu George, Counsellor
Sonu George (he/his) is a Registered Social Worker with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work. He also completed the Social Service Worker program at Cambrian College in Canada and understands firsthand the unique challenges international students face, having been one himself.
Sonu is committed to serving as a counsellor at Medicine Hat College, where he provides compassionate, student-centered care to help students navigate personal, academic, and emotional challenges.
Previously, Sonu worked as a counsellor at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario, where he gained valuable experience supporting students. He also has a background in crisis counselling with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), where he developed expertise in crisis intervention and providing timely support.
Taking a holistic approach to counselling, Sonu focuses on the unique strengths and needs of each individual. He is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where students can feel empowered to address challenges and work toward achieving their personal and academic goals.
