College helps connect job seekers to employers at annual job fair
February 18, 2014
Medicine Hat College’s (MHC) job fair is back for another year. On February 26, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. the college will be filled with employers wanting to connect with jobseekers. The public is welcome to attend.
“This event is about gaining employment whether it is a career position, a general opportunity or a summer job,” said Shelly Drefs, student career services assistant. “We have organizations hiring for everything from warehouse positions, retail sales and summer parks to policing, banking and healthcare.”
Drefs was happy to report that this year there is a higher percentage of local employers participating.
“We encourage people to come prepared with resumes and dressed in attire that is appropriate for interviews,” said Drefs. “Be prepared for on-the-spot interviews and ready to tell the companies why you would be a good match for their organization.”
Currently there are over 40 exhibitors registered.
To get a list of the companies attending or for more information and to learn resume dos and don’ts as well as tips for a successful job search visit www.mhc.ab.ca/Services/CareerCentre. Updates will also be available on Twitter @MHCollege via the hashtag #MHCJobFair.
MHC is still accepting registrations from organizations interested in setting up a booth. Event fees are $200 which included a continental breakfast, two lunches, parking and tax. The non-profit rate is $125. To download the application and learn more click here.
