Trevor Moore named ACAC Golf Coach of the Year

September 29, 2014

Trevor Moore, a golf instructor with Medicine Hat College (MHC) has been identified as the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) golf coach of the year. On Saturday, September 27, 2014 during the ACAC Golf Championships hosted by MacEwen University in Edmonton, Alberta, Moore was presented with this very prestigious award.

“Trevor is a tremendous college coach in that he focuses on the complete development of the student athlete, including academics, athletic progress and community involvement. We are very excited to have Trevor honoured as the ACAC Golf Coach of the Year and extend our congratulations to him,” explains Terry Ballard, manager of sports and wellness at MHC.

Moore has developed and established the Rattlers golf program to include a reputation for having a highly skilled and trained team.

In a release issued by ACAC, Moore’s contribution to the sport is described as “second to none,” based off of the time and dedication he has with his student athletes.

As golf is primarily an individual sport, Trevor has done an exceptional job in creating a true team environment amongst the student athletes. He has created a very tight knit team that enjoys the practices that Trevor conducts as well as his complete dedication to the program, always putting the student athletes first and foremost.

Ballard also explains that with complications that arise from such a short ACAC season Moore has created a system that motivates his student-athletes to constantly perform and play their very best.
