July 27, 2015
Medicine Hat College (MHC) is excited to welcome Sandy Henderson to the role of executive advisor to the president, effective August 17, 2015.
Henderson comes to MHC from Alberta Innovation & Advanced Education. In his 12 years with the Government of Alberta, he has held various senior management roles including director of accountability and evaluation; senior manager of research and analysis; manager of planning and investment, as well as manager of business planning and processes.
Henderson holds a Bachelor of Commerce with an emphasis on accounting and a minor in management science from the University of Alberta. He has received the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Designation which focuses on developing leadership, financial and strategic management expertise.
“We are excited to have Sandy join our team,” says Dr. Denise Henning, president and CEO. “He’s been involved in, and led, initiatives that continue to strengthen our post-secondary environment and we feel his experience will prove beneficial to the college.”
Henderson and his family look forward to moving to Medicine Hat as they have ties to the area.
“I am excited to be part of the college community and welcome the opportunity to support Dr. Henning and the senior leadership team through the exciting change that is happening on campus,” says Henderson. “Post-secondary education is very important to me, not only because I’ve been working in it for some time, but because I also have young children and want them to benefit from a quality education. I think my experience will bring a different perspective to MHC and I look forward to helping the institution achieve its strategic goals.”
