A little about the role:
This project is a collaboration among Global Village Centre, Brooks, Alberta, researchers from Medicine Hat College and a researcher from University of Regina. Together, we aim to decrease newcomer’s barriers to accessing existing mental health and wellness services available in southeastern Alberta (Brooks, Newell County, and Medicine Hat). Overall, our goal is to enhance and coordinate capacity for culturally appropriate service in the mental health sector. We will build a set of education modules that will help bridge mental health and cultural awareness for service providers and health practitioners.
As part of the agreement, the IRCC requires an independent evaluation of the use of research projects as part of indirect contribution agreements using researchers working in post-secondary institutions in collaboration with community partners. We think there are unique circumstances within the post-secondary environment that would generate beneficial information for efficient and effective future projects.
