Medicine Hat College is seeking a regular, full-time, Coordinator, Student Residence. The Coordinator, Student Residence is responsible for the effective management of the student residence, provision of student residential support services, Residence Life and educational programming, and the maintenance of facilities.
A little about the role:
Reporting to the Director, Student supports, the Coordinator, Student Residence will be responsible for planning, leading, and monitoring on-campus residence functions including fiscal operations, assisting in screening applicants and providing guidance in assigning rooms. The position will also ensure upkeep, renewal, and maintenance of residence facilities; and hiring and training of Residence staff. This position is required to develop, implement, and administer associated Student Development learning opportunities, Residence Life programs and processes intended to promote and enhance College student experiences.
The Coordinator, Student Residence will also administer and maintain College residence rules and regulations, uphold community standards, deal with students for complaint resolution, and provide leadership for crisis management situations. The coordinator will be available after hours and weekends to provide guidance to RA staff and attend to any serious incident or emergency situations.
Details:
- An undergraduate degree in a related field
- 2 – 4 years related experience, preferably in a post-secondary residence environment
- Equivalent combinations of education and work experience will be considered
- Proven leadership and administrative expertise including supervisory expertise
- Previous administration experience with budgets and financial management and relevant experience with rental properties are definite assets
- Experience utilizing housing management software (e.g. StarRez,) or other database management experience is preferred and considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, student-oriented, strong conflict resolution and mediation skills, intercultural acumen, and the ability to exercise sound judgement are required
The annual salary for this position is $71,326 - $83,433.
