Medicine Hat College’s School of Health and Community Services invites applications for 2 full-time Instructor(s) in our new Addictions Counselling program. These are one-year, full-time, term-certain appointments commencing July 1, 2025, with a high likelihood of renewal.
A little about the role:
The Government of Alberta has provided two years of funding to Medicine Hat College to establish an Addictions Counselling program as part of the Mental Health Professions Enrolment Expansion initiative. This university transfer and diploma completion program is both rigorous and distinctive, equipping students with comprehensive knowledge across various dependencies, including substance abuse, gambling, eating and sexual disorders, as well as developing their multilevel intervention skills.
Details:
- Practical experience in the field of Addictions Counselling.
- A diploma in Addictions Counselling, a Bachelor's degree in Counselling, Health Sciences, or a related field (a Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred).
- Experience teaching in a post-secondary educational environment.
- A combination of post-secondary education and relevant work experience may also be considered.
