Medicine Hat College welcomes student applications for Campus Peer Support Workers. There are two contract positions available for Medicine Hat campus for the 2025-2026 academic year.
A little about the role:
Do you have an interest in the mental health field? Do you want to help fellow peers? Reporting to the Manager, Mental Health Services & Counselling the Campus Peer Support Worker role involves providing non-clinical mental health support to MHC students. Following the National Canadian Mental Health Association Campus Peer support curriculum, this role engages in individual and group support formats. This is a paid position and training is provided. Ongoing supervision is provided.
Details:
- Have a lived experience of mental health and/or addictions.
- Be currently enrolled at or accepted to attend Medicine Hat College.
- Be able to build relationships quickly and connect with peers.
- Have excellent interpersonal communication skills (listening/ approachable).
Terms of Employment: August 25, 2025, to April 30, 2026 (with the possibility of renewal)
Hours of Work: Up to 5 hours per week – some flexibility of hours may be required.
Wage Rate: $17.00 per hour
