Medicine Hat College’s School of Arts, Science & Education invites applications for an Instructor in our Bachelor of Education program, subject to budgetary approval. This is a full-time, in person position and, upon successful completion of a two-year probationary period, the position will be a continuous appointment.
A little about the role:
An instructor in the Medicine Hat College Bachelor of Education program requires significant K-12 teaching experience and pedagogical excellence, a passion for the development of preservice teachers, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a team. The successful candidate will instruct Education courses based on expertise and areas of interest, as much as possible, and/or other courses as needed for the program. Courses in the Education Program can be found starting on Page 87 of the MHC Academic Calendar; in your cover letter, please describe your expertise and areas of interest relating to these course offerings.
The successful candidate will also be required to engage in a variety of professional responsibilities and contribute to a collaborative environment that fosters the mission of the College and the success of our students.
Details:
- Master’s degree in Education required; PhD would be an asset
- At least 10 years teaching experience in K-12 classrooms
- Willingness to be an active part of a dynamic and collaborative team that focuses on student success and has a positive, appreciative and enthusiastic personality
- Strong communication skills and computer literacy
- An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered

Degrees conferred outside of Canada must be accredited by the Province of Alberta, International Qualification Assessment Service (IQAS), Alberta Advanced Education and Technology, to be valid and recognized by Medicine Hat College.
