Medicine Hat College is currently seeking applications for a Manager, Program Excellence in the Teaching and Learning Department. This is a full-time, term specific employment opportunity and is a pivotal role in fostering a positive quality assurance culture.
A little about the role:
Reporting directly to the Director, Teaching and Learning, this position will involve creating performance measurement tools for both new and existing programs and spearhead the development, collection, and dissemination of institutional data. Working collaboratively with staff, the Manager will research, evaluate, and apply best practices in curriculum development and quality assurance processes. The Manager will also coordinate, produce, analyze and communicate various institutional measurement systems, providing critical support to the College's ongoing planning process.
The primary areas of responsibility for this position are to:
- support institutional and program effectiveness through the design, implementation and analysis of institutional research.
- ensure the timely dissemination of accurate data, information, and analysis to internal decision-makers and external agencies to aid in the development of course and program offerings and learning outcomes.
- develop program quality assurance framework, communication strategy and culture, ensuring alignment with academic standards and regulatory requirements.
- manage a team of research analysts, research assistants and survey clerks.
Details:
- A Master’s degree in a related discipline. Equivalent combinations of post-secondary education and relevant work experience will be considered.
- Minimum of one year in post-secondary leadership and one year post-secondary instruction, with a thorough understanding of course development and learning outcomes.
- Experience with course development, quality assurance assessment, and outcome-based curriculum.
- Experience analyzing and synthesizing complex and large data sets from various sources (e.g. Anthology Course Evaluation or Qualtrics), extracting inferences, and orally and visually communicating to appropriate audiences using a variety of presentation methods.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a professional and collaborative manner.
Salary Range: $81,324 - $94,216 per annum
Appointment Term: August 1, 2025 - February 1, 2026
