Medicine Hat College is seeking a collaborative and innovative leader to fill the role of Director, Facilities.
A little about the role:
As part of the leadership team at MHC, reporting to the Executive Director, Facilities and Information Technology, the successful candidate will direct the strategic and operational management of college property assets, and the maintenance and use of campus facilities for the Medicine Hat and Brooks campuses.
The role is responsible to build and maintain collaboration and partnerships internal and external to the college, focusing on the use college property assets and facilities to forward the strategic goals of the college.
This leader is also responsible to implement, monitor, and renew the campus master plan for the college campus locations of Brooks and Medicine Hat.
The incumbent provides leadership and direction to the Facility Operations department, and campus security.
We are seeking a professional with an inclusive, flexible, open-minded leadership style, with a strategic, forward-looking focus, along with an ability to pragmatically support the day-to-day operations of their team.
Details:
- A related graduate degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Urban Planning.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in large facilities management, administration, budgets, policy development, and meeting regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated understanding of educational properties (facilities) and their impact on college strategy, enterprise risk, student and employee experience, and business continuity.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of property management, campus facilities planning, strategic business case development, Health & Safety programs, and contract management.
- Management experience in leading large scale capital project planning and execution initiatives in a campus wide setting.
- Experience in a unionized environment with several years of progressive experience at a management level.
Certification from an accredited professional association such as IFMA, BOMA, APEGA, ASET, or LEED accreditation or other building design, construction, or sustainability certification(s) are considered an asset.
The salary range for this position is $112,146-$127,792 per annum.
