Medicine Hat College’s School of Business and Continuing Studies is welcoming applications for a part-time, contract welding instructor for the Career and Technology Foundations (CTF) and Career and Technology Studies (CTS) for the winter semester at Brooks Campus. These programs are in partnership with a local school district.
A little about the role:
As an instructor, you have the opportunity to participate in a work environment, which values collaboration, safe work conditions, and student success through engaging, practical learning experiences.
Responsibilities include preparing and instructing lessons in shop settings, following the Alberta Education curriculum. This role requires time before and after scheduled instructional time for preparation. You will also be part of a team responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of equipment used during instruction.
Details:
- Completion of Alberta Journeyman/Inter-Provincial Red Seal in Welding
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience as a Welder
- Solid theoretical knowledge of the Welding trade
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Interest and enthusiasm in helping junior high and high school students develop new skills
