Brandon attended York University for space engineering. After graduating, he pursued a master's in engineering. It was during this time that he experienced a momentous realization of his passion for teaching. This epiphany led him to transition from the master's program to enrolling in the Bachelor of Education program at York University. Following his studies, he spent a transformative year teaching in the United Kingdom while also exploring Europe.
Upon his return to Canada, Brandon settled in Alberta, where he dedicated over a decade to shaping young minds as a high-school chemistry and physics teacher. He cherishes witnessing the wonder that students felt when observing captivating chemical reactions including some of his favorites such as his mesmerizing fire-breathing demonstration and the intricate Story of Ira Remsen reaction. His favorite lab activities involved infusing the school with the delightful scent of esters or taking on challenges like solving projectile-motion scenarios, culminating in launching projectiles through flaming rings. Throughout this period, he pursued further education, earning a Master of Education degree with a specialization in leadership and administration. His research focused on examining the impact of sensory manipulatives on student anxiety and mindfulness in the classroom, contributing valuable insights to the field.
Brandon's journey has brought him to a significant milestone: a faculty position at Medicine Hat College. He approaches this opportunity with a profound sense of honor, eager to impart his passion for both teaching and learning to his colleagues and students. As he embarks on this new chapter in his career, he envisions a dynamic exchange of knowledge and growth.
Beyond his dedication to education and his family, Brandon's passions span a diverse spectrum. He practices the guitar every day and loves composing and producing both synthwave and orchestral music. Additionally, he finds enjoyment in playing video games, pursuing personal fitness, reading, and embarking on epic adventures through playing dungeons and dragons.
